Starting in 1824 with the founder Dr. Johann Siegert producing the first aromatic bitters as a medicinal tincture designed to relive stomach aliments. In 1870's don Carlos Seigerts pioneered the brand establishing Angostura as an integral ingredient in cocktails. a Staple for bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts alike it is said "a bar without angostura is like a kitchen without salt and pepper"
