Astobiza Txakoli

Astobiza Estate is a boutique Txakoli producer located in Okondo, Álava province, just 12 miles southwest of Bilbao. This small-scale winery manages 10 hectares of vineyards, focusing primarily on the indigenous Ondarrabi Zuri grape. They also cultivate smaller amounts of Ondarrabi Zuri Zerriatie (Petit Courbu) and Izkirota (Gros Manseng).

Their vineyards sit at 300 meters above sea level, with vines planted at low densities. The estate's location offers natural protection from harsh Atlantic winds, thanks to the surrounding hills. Adhering to quality-focused practices, all grapes are harvested by hand.

Vibrant aromas burst from the glass, offering a medley of pear, apple, grapefruit, and peach notes. The palate is lively and refreshing, culminating in a distinctly mineral finish. Best enjoyed well chilled.Brilliant alongside seafood dishes, it's also an excellent match for sushi, delicate fish carpaccio, and chilled shellfish platters.
