The Kerner variety is a cross between Schiava and Riesling, created in Weinsberg (Germany) in 1929. It's named in honour of the poet and physician Justinus Kerner. It prefers the light, gravelly and sandy soils of the higher altitude, sunny hillsides of the mid Valle Isarco.
Fresh, intense, spiced and aromatic. Stone fruit flavours of peach and apricot. Very expressive, well balanced acidity with great length.
