Thomas Reynolds, an English merchant, arrived in Portugal in 1820, drawn by the wine trade's promise. He and his sons, Thomas and Robert, settled in Porto, supplying their London store with Iberian goods. Later they ventured into cork manufacturing and by 1850 they moved to Estremoz, in the Alentejo region
The Alentejo became the Reynolds family's Portuguese home, where Robert, now the patriarch, settled. His son Robert Rafael was born there, followed by grandson Carlos. Carlos's first child was Gloria Reynolds. Gloria's son Julian now produces quality wine bearing the family name and its legacy in the region.
Carlos Reynolds Tinto is vibrant, brimming with dark fruit aromas. Well-concentrated, on the palate it strikes a fine balance between elegance and silkiness. Full of ripe fruit flavours, particularly plum and black cherry, it carries soft tannins that provide excellent structure, complementing the wine's overall profile. The finish is long-lasting and refined.
Serving Suggestions: This versatile wine is ideal for everyday enjoyment with meals at home. As a natural product, it's best appreciated as part of a pleasant dining experience. While delightful in its youth, it also ages gracefully. For older vintages, decanting is recommended. Serve at 16-18°C (61-64°F).
