Nestled high on the Simonsberg Mountain, 50 km from Cape Town, the family-owned Delheim estate has been producing wines of distinction for generations. The Sperling family, stewards of this land, have crafted a range of award-winning wines, with their Pinotage Rosé standing out as a pioneering achievement. Introduced in 1976, it was the first of its kind in South Africa.
The Delheim Rosé showcases the elegant side of Pinotage in a dry style. It presents a delicate salmon pink hue, while the nose offers bright red fruit aromas complemented by vibrant acidity. The palate reveals juicy red berry flavours, notably strawberries and cranberries, with a subtle ruby grapefruit nuance. This dry wine boasts a rounded, soft mouthfeel, achieving a harmonious balance between acidity and alcohol.
Versatile in its pairing potential, this rosé complements a variety of dishes. It's an excellent companion to fresh seasonal salads and sushi, making it perfect for picnics. For those seeking more adventurous pairings, it also stands up well to spicy Thai soups.
