Domaine La Tasque is a small family domaine situated in the rolling countryside between Carcassonne and Béziers in the Languedoc, South of France. It is owned by Master of Wine, Juliet Bruce Jones and her husband Simon Ingman. The vineyards are organically farmed and harvested by hand.
2018 was an excellent vintage with a good crop of beautiful grapes. The fruit was de-stemmed and crushed to liberate the juice before fermentation in a wooden tank for over 3 weeks with gentle punching down to extract colour and flavour. 20% of the wine was matured in two-year-old barriques for 14 months before blending and bottling.
A full-bodied Syrah with voluptuous yet fresh flavours of black fruit, wild herbs and a hint of spice from partial ageing in oak barrels. Enjoy now to 2028.
