Domaine Montirius 'La Muse Papilles' Cotes du Rhone Magnum 1.5L

Montirius "La Muse Papilles" A.O.P Côtes-du-Rhône Red was introduced in 2013. This aptly named wine range, available in red, white, and rosé, promises to liven up your taste buds.

Montirius Côtes du Rhône vineyard area spans 5 hectares across 5 parcels. Three 1-hectare plots, hosting 25-year-old vines, surround Sarrians village. These vines grow in plateau soil atop Helvetian sand and sandstone subsoil. Near Sablet, a 1-hectare parcel boasts century-old Grenache vines (55 years) in sandy clay soil with Helvetian yellow sandstone and sand subsoil. The final 1-hectare plot, near Sarrians and 'Le Clos', is forest-flanked with a cool microclimate. Its 50-year-old vines rest on Helvetian sandstone and sand. 

Tasting notes: This wine made with 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah tantalizes with its fruitiness. The nose presents cherry and raspberry aromas, while the palate leaves a lingering fruit presence. 

Pair with game like wild boar which complements Rhône wines exceptionally well regardless of preparation - grilled, seared, or ground and made into sausages. Other excellent pairings include venison, lamb or mutton, and goat.
