Giaconda's winemaking philosophy emphasizes subtlety and balance, never overshadowing the unique terroir and vintage characteristics. Their natural winemaking approach employs indigenous yeasts for fermentation and natural bacteria for malolactic fermentation. The wines age in French oak barrels with minimal sulphur additions and are bottled without filtration.
The Giaconda Beechworth Nebbiolo thrives in their high-altitude vineyards, where the climate ensures true varietal expression and flavour intensity. The wine presents a gracious bouquet of morning-fresh roses, subtle sandalwood, and hints of tar, complemented by red fruits, forest floor, and supple leather notes. The palate displays remarkable tension, with fine-grained tannins carrying fresh red fruit flavours to a lingering finish. Its generosity of fruit is matched by an athletic structure, where refined tannins and balanced acidity create a wine of both power and elegance.
