"José Gil, one of the regions' best young talents" - Tim Atkin. José Gil is from the village of San Vicente where his family have been grape growers and winemakers for generations. The fruit is from high-altitude, tiny parcels of 0.2 to 0.4 hectares of old vines, with José's focus being on terroir wines in a Burgundian style, inspiration taken from 2 years working in Burgundy and a year in the Mosel.
95% Tempranillo, 5% Viura. Vines sit on chalk and limestone at 515 metres. Ripe cherry, aromatic and elegant with well integrated tannins.
