On the foothill just below the 'Route des Grands Crus', underneath Clos de la Roche Grand Cru. Clos des Ormes has a similar terroir to the Clos de la Roche vineyard above, with a shallow layer of clay and marly, rocky limestone soils. These soils are free draining and not very deep.
The wine is rich and round with good structure and a charming bouquet of ripe black cherries and small black fruits.
