One of the last distillery's to operate in the centre of a town, Oban distillery dates back to 1794. After an initial ageing in normal casks the whisky is transferred to first fill Montilla fino sherry casks for a second maturation. Here it takes on rich peach and dried fruit flavours which complement Oban's typical sea-salt character.
