Learning from some of Barossa's greatest winemakers, Jason Schwarz focuses on producing non-mainstream, low-intervention, small-batch wines that create new expressions of classically produced Barossa wines that allow the high-quality fruit to speak for itself.
Being produced on his family's vineyard in Bethany, this Grenache Blanc is split into two styles before blending. The first was destemmed and crushed to macerate for 15 hours, whereas the second was only macerated for 7 hours. Both were then pressed into separate tanks before being racked for fermentation over 6 days, then introduced into French oak before being blended back together and bottled.
With a pale straw hue, it produces aromas of lemon, grapefruit, and poached pear. On the palate, it provides a rich clotted cream followed by almond and floral notes.
Goes great with corn fritters served alongside goat cheese sauce.
